Special Home Health Aide/Personal Care Aide Inservice Training in Emerging Infectious Diseases, Novel Influenza & Infections in the HCBS Population

Are you up to date on the infections that are affecting the patients you care for? HCANYS and IPRO invite home health aides and personal care aides to a free virtual training on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This 90-minute program will give you the knowledge and skills to protect yourself and your patients from emerging infectious diseases — including COVID-19, RSV, flu, and H5N1. You will learn how to recognize warning signs, apply infection control precautions in the home, and respond when a patient’s condition changes. Real-life case studies and Q&A are built into the session. This training is pending approval by the New York State Department of Health to count toward your annual in-service requirement in infection control. Faculty experts from HCANYS and IPRO will lead the webinar.
