Bird Flu & Home Care: Understanding H5N1 Risks in the Community

April 1 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This session will examine the status of H5N1 and its potential implications for personal care workers traversing New York City to care for patients in their homes.

HCP is thrilled to have featured speakers Kevin Hynes, Wildlife Health Program Leader, from the New York State (NYS) Division of Fish and Wildlife, and Dr. Eireann Collins, Emergency Programs Coordinator for the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Division of Animal Industry to present this webinar. Their experience and fields of study offer attendees a perspective not typically included in broader public health briefings but one that explores the H5N1 threat through the lens of home and community life.

During this one-hour presentation, speakers will review transmission risks, community exposure considerations, and practical protective measures for home settings. Attendees will gain actionable guidance to strengthen emergency preparedness plans, safeguard frontline staff, and communicate effectively with patients about this evolving and unusual threat.

This webinar is free to attend but you must reserve your spot today.
