SUMMARY:Special Home Health Aide/Personal Care Aide Inservice Training in Emerging Infectious Diseases\, Novel Influenza & Infections in the HCBS Population
DESCRIPTION:Are you up to date on the infections that are affecting the patients you care for? HCANYS and IPRO invite home health aides and personal care aides to a free virtual training on Tuesday\, June 16\, 2026\, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This 90-minute program will give you the knowledge and skills to protect yourself and your patients from emerging infectious diseases — including COVID-19\, RSV\, flu\, and H5N1. You will learn how to recognize warning signs\, apply infection control precautions in the home\, and respond when a patient’s condition changes. Real-life case studies and Q&A are built into the session. This training is pending approval by the New York State Department of Health to count toward your annual in-service requirement in infection control. Faculty experts from HCANYS and IPRO will lead the webinar.
