SUMMARY:Mental Health Resilience for The Healthcare Workers- Especially For LTC Staff
DESCRIPTION:NYSHFA/NYSCAL/FQC will be hosting a number of Emergency Preparedness Webinars in 2025 presented by Incident Management Solutions Inc. \nThis webinar will provide guidance and tools to support resiliency in healthcare workers\, with a focus on LTC staff\, in the face of emergencies and disasters. Healthcare workers are in unique positions during emergencies to care for some of the most vulnerable people in their community – an act that is rewarding as well as stressful and challenging. In this webinar\, we will focus on the well-being of healthcare workers and learn about the emotional and physiological impacts of stress and exposure to trauma. We will also introduce tools and skills such as grounding\, mindfulness\, distress tolerance\, and emotional regulation to help manage and reduce stress/trauma reactions. Finally\, we will discuss what a supportive workplace environment looks like which includes seeing the healthcare worker as a whole person – who is skillful\, who is impacted by what is happening to their patients/clients\, and who is living their personal lives with their challenges and concerns. The webinar will engage participants using practice scenarios\, discussion\, and helpful handouts.
