We bring together healthcare leadership, non-healthcare partners, and community organizations to prepare the healthcare system for emergencies.
The NYCHCC works together as a single, integrated, and coordinated healthcare system emergency planning and response group. We leverage the strengths of each member – from expertise in risk communication, to information sharing, planning, and rapid response – to enhance the preparedness of all coalition members.
Membership is open to all NYC healthcare organizations, community organizations that support health and wellbeing, surrounding regional healthcare organizations, and state and local government agencies that have a stake in healthcare system preparedness.

Our Story
Since 2003, the U.S. Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response’s (ASPR) Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) has provided crucial funding to states and eligible major metropolitan areas to improve healthcare system preparedness for emergencies.
The NYCHCC was established in 2012, after ASPR issued guidance for creating local healthcare preparedness coalitions. Since then, we have expanded our coalition by bringing in partners from new healthcare sectors and communities across NYC. Learn more about who is part of our coalition.
Our Mission
The mission of the NYCHCC is to promote and support all-hazards preparedness and response activities by sharing situational awareness, information, training, and resources with all healthcare system stakeholders to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies while ensuring continuity of care and safety of New Yorkers.
