A Collaboration with NYC Emergency Management

Join us for a FREE virtual Home Care and Hospice Emergency Preparedness Forum. The Home Care Association of New York State (HCANYS), the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) and the New York State Association of Health Care Providers (HCP) are conducting this Forum as part of a series of activities funded by a grant from the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), and administered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR).

New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) is an integral part of emergency and incident response planning and recovery in New York City. This forum will focus on the collaborative work of NYCEM’s Health & Medical Unit with city, state, and federal partners, healthcare associations, healthcare facilities, and emergency medical services partners to prepare for and respond to incidents that impact the New York City healthcare sector.

Sam de Lannoy is a Health & Medical Planning Specialist in the Health & Medical Unit at New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) and serves as an ESF-8 Coordinator in the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Sam’s portfolio includes Special Medical Needs Shelters, Burn Surge Protocol, Closed POD Plan, and citywide emergency planning and response for health related – incidents. She has a background in public health and earned her Master of Public Health at Boston University School of Public Health.

Eva Cohen, Director of Regulatory and Community Affairs, HPCANYS, Carole Deyoe, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Special Programs, HCP, and Al Cardillo, President/CEO, Peter Chernack, Executive Vice President, both from HCANYS, will also provide updates on topics in emergency management affecting home care, hospice and community-based services providers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share comments, questions or concerns on the Emergency Management Preparedness issues that face their agencies. Your participation in the open discussion following the presentations will help prioritize and shape future emergency management programming.
